Bio

Larry O’Bannon was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. in the Shelby Park/Smoketown area of town. He graduated from Male High School in 2001, where he competed in basketball and track and field.  After graduating from Male, he went on to the University of Louisville to play basketball from 2001-05 under head coach Rick Pitino.  In 2005, Larry help lead the team to the 2005 Final Four in St. Louis and graduated from the school of business with a degree in accounting.

Brought up by strict parents, Larry was taught self-discipline at an early age.  After his removal from his sixth grade basketball team and not allowed to return for violation of home academic standards, that set the tone early for his focus and determination of becoming a professional basketball player. Being the youngest of three siblings, two older sisters, O’Bannon was in a great position to learn from observing his surroundings.  He was able to take advantage of learning from his older siblings by being very observant and having the ability to grasp concepts quickly.

O’Bannon lives by a “copy success” motto that he learned by attending Louisville Male High School.  Surrounding yourself with successful people and learning their strategy and plans toward success can help you lead to your very own plan toward success.  Nicknamed “Son Of The City” because of the strategies and plans he has observed and sought out from other successful people in the city of Louisville, he has taken that information and advice created a new success of his own.

Currently, Larry is playing professional basketball in Europe.  He has played in various countries such as Italy. Greece and Israel. Also, he is in pursuit of becoming a certified public accountant.
